Carson-Newman Homecoming - 10 years!

We had such a blast yesterday. We were able to spend a day with our college friends at our 10 year college reunion. It was really neat to reconnect with some we haven't seen since we graduated. Here's pictures I took of us and our good friends enjoying the day together.

Cornerstone County Fair!

Cornerstone (Lydia's school) hosted their own version of a County Fair for the K-6th graders on Friday morning. There were animals to see and pet (chickens, rabbit, cows, goats), ponies and tractors to ride, games to play, and sno-cones and popcorn to eat! It was really fun. I took the boys along to help with games and they were able to see all the sights and play games too. Here's all the pictures I was able to snap of our kiddos and Lydia's classmates that day.

AND there were different categories that the kids could enter their own creations into the Fair...photography, cookie baking, crafts, sewing, etc. Lydia entered two pictures she took in our neighborhood and made no-bake cookies. Her cookies got 2nd place in the 1st-2nd group, and here's her pictures she entered. Her duck picture received 3rd! She was so sweet about receiving the ribbons. She said, "Mommy, you don't have to win a ribbon...just try your best. I didn't have to have one, but it was fun to get one. "

Jude and Lydia's Birthdays

Sorry I didn't post these sooner! You know me and blogging! There's several things I want to post, but most importantly, I wanted to share all our birthday party pictures. I cannot believe our little guy turned 5 last month. He is getting so big and turning into such a sweet, hard working, servant-hearted boy.
Here's pictures from a small party we had at home with my family, the Shouns, and our neighbors.

And then a couple weeks later Aunt Martha hosted a pool party for all of Kent's family. We took along some cupcakes to celebrate Jude's birthday with the cousins there too.

Then this past Saturday, we hosted a tea party for Lydia and all the girls in her class at school. They really had a ball together. They all came dressed up, we painted nails, made paper fans, had our tea party, and played musical chairs. Oh, and the cutest thing was that during the tea party, I told the girls they had to use their fancy tea party words, like calling each other "Dahling" and the grown-up ladies were "Madames". They really got into it and talked that way the whole time at the table! After the tea party we invited all our family over to watch the UT game and of course, the standard Petros for dinner. We had quite a crowd! It was a really fun day, full of celebrating Lydia's birthday with so many people that she loves.

Fall Creek Falls

We had a great time with family at Fall Creek Falls State Park a couple weekends ago. We were all together to celebrate Dad's 60th Birthday.
Saturday we went on a 5 mile bike ride with the kids (go Jude and Lydia!), swam, and had a cookout at the campground...

Sunday we rode the paddleboats and went to see the waterfalls. The sign said they are the tallest falls east of the Rocky Mountains! And as you can tell from the pictures, Hudson is quite fond of my Dad. :)

Precious Friends

Here's a few pictures taken at our going away party in Raleigh. So many sweet friends came to see us before we moved. I only wish I had gotten more pictures of all the rest of the crowd that came out. What gifts from God you are to us!

The Big 10!

We had the blessing of celebrating 10 years of marriage on July 15th!
Here's Jude's "Happy Annibersary" card. So cute.
And there we are on the porch before our fancy dinner date out!

Capps Family Vacation

I don't have much time to go through all the pics and edit and such... but here they are! We hit the Isle of Palms, SC, this year and had a blast with all the cousins, aunts, uncles, and Kent's parents. There's TONS of pics, so brace yourself! Enjoy!
Here's seeing the beach the first day:

Day 2 included a birthday party for Summitt:

Day 3 pictures - rockin' the beach and pool:

Day 5 We went to downtown Charleston for a carriage ride tour, visit to the local market, and lunch!

And last day there - more at the beach and family pics too:
